涡旋压缩机的回转半径很小，动盘属于平面运动，盘上的各点线速度都很低，与静涡盘之间用油膜密封，不直接接触，所以气流速度低，气流平稳，气流噪声和机械噪声小。

涡旋机运动的部件只有3件，且没有接触。动静盘之间是靠油膜密封的，机械效率很高。没有泄露和没有余隙容积，吸气有增压效应，故容积效率高达101%，压缩过程缓慢，接近等温过程，所以节能。
