2024年1月19日，广东珠海阳光明媚，华南地区唯一的低速机制造厂玉柴船动与汇舸集团举行了甲醇双燃料低速机供应站开工典礼，玉柴船动总经理邓辉和汇舸集团董事长周洋共同主持仪式。

玉柴船动于2015年交付了世界首台投入商业运营的RT-flex50DF低压天然气双燃料低速机，走在了建造新燃料船用低速机的前列。
玉柴船动从2022年正式启动甲醇供应站建设项目，用于甲醇双燃料低速机的台架试验，接下来将以甲醇机订单为契机，按时完成甲醇燃料供应站的建设，力争走在甲醇、液氨等双燃料机的开发前列，成为国内领先、世界知名的清洁燃料船用低速机制造厂。
YCMP and ContiOcean held a groundbreaking ceremony for the methanol dual-fuel low-speed engine supply system
On January 19, 2024, under the bright sunshine in Zhuhai, Guangdong, Yuchai Marine Power Co., Ltd. (YCMP), the only low-speed engine manufacturer in South China, and ContiOcean Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for the methanol dual-fuel low-speed engine supply system. The ceremony was jointly hosted by General Manager of YCMP, Mr. Deng Hui, and Chairman of ContiOcean Group, Mr. Zhou Yang.
IMO has proposed that the international shipping industry achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions around 2050, and the EU carbon market will include the shipping industry from 2024, requiring shipping companies to purchase quotas for carbon emissions from 2026. Methanol fuel has the advantages of low equipment investment costs and easy storage and transportation, and green methanol can achieve 100% carbon neutrality, making it increasingly favored by shipowners.
